The Corporation for national and community Service fund (CNCS) is a cabinet level executive branch department of The the U.S. federal government created to protect the health of all Americans and providing essential human services. Its motto is "Improving the health, safety, and well-being of America" before the separate federal Department of education was created in 1979, it was called the Department of Health, Education.(CNCS) is administered by the Secretary of national service, who is appointed by the president with the advice and consent of the United States senate. The position is currently held by Xavier Becerra.

The Corporation was established on October 1, 1993, by the National and Community Service Trust Act of 1993 (42 U.S.C. 12651 et seq.). In addition to creating several new grant service programs, the Act consolidated the functions and activities of the former Commission on National and Community Service and the Federal agency.In 2010 the United States federal budget established a reserve fund of more than $630 billion over 17 years to finance fundamental reform of the health care system and strengthen communities by improving the citizen standard of living through (CNCS) grant programs.
